Titanium skid plates implemented this year, and you see the sparks much more during a disk/night race. Leigh Diffy mentioned it near the beginning of the race.

Not true from what I heard. Charlie Whiting apparently said that they were implemented because they’re softer than and thus wear more then the jabloc composites. This means that the car must be run higher to pass parc ferme inspection, and that the skid plates are doing their job of reducing ground effect effectiveness and overall down force. Bernie had demanded more sparks last year, but the FIA claim the above reason for why it’s in the rule book.

I had so much hope for it but after Persona 4 it was demoted to the Rayman machine for my nieces until Rayman Legends was made free on the Xbox One now it just sits in its case waiting for day I might pick up a PS4 and can return to work as a remote play device.

I like sparks, but they might have overdone it a bit... They’re only special when they pop up every once in a while, not constantly.
